From Marvel Comics' New Mutants.
This (old) picture was drawn based on Keron Grant's designs for the then upcoming New Mutants series.
Personalities were based on what Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir (the writers) let us know about the kids back then.
They are Josh Foley (Elixir) from Flushing, Queens, New York, USA; Sofía Mantega (Wind Dancer) from Caracas, Venezuela; Laurie Collins (Wallflower) from Kent, Connecticut, USA; David Alleyne (Prodigy) from Chicago, Illinois, USA, and Noriko Ashida (Surge) from Tokyo, Japan.
Not all of them remain with the X-Men now. Laurie is dead, and Sofía has been de-powered and is part of the New Warriors. David has been de-powered, as well.
I was nostalgic yesterday, checking Nunzio and Christina's forum at ComiX-Fan, The Grind Stone.
This is dedicated to both of them.
